Sacramento KSMF for Tower!2011

by SimSmith Design

Sacramento International Airport opened in 1967, as Sacramento Metropolitan Airport.
It was the first airport west of the Mississippi built from the ground up for public use.
The airport has a quickly surpassed the initially projected 750,000 passengers per year, and it has been upgraded with a second runway in 19987.
Terminal B has been rebuilt with a separate air-side and land-side in 2011, connected by an automated people mover.

Despite the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the global economic downturn in 2008, passengers numbers at the airport are in a constant rise, getting close to 10 million in 2015.
Local time is UTC -8.
