Charlotte Douglas International Airport is a joint civil-military public international airport located in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States.
The airport gained its current name in 1982 and is the second largest hub for American Airlines after Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
In 2015 it was the 6th busiest airport in the United States, ranked both by passenger traffic and aircraft movements. 
Charlotte is the largest airport in the United States without nonstop service to Asia.
Charlotte Douglas International Airport is one of the few airports in the US that has a public viewing area. Here, visitors can watch planes take off, land and taxi to and from runway 18C/36C. It is credited with having one of the best airport views in the United States.
